1.    My Life Without Jesus

“It was Easter Sunday, 1975, my son Mark and I were living in Las Vegas, U.S.A.  Mark being a Baptist, wanted to go to church.  I being a heathen or non Christian wanted to go and have breakfast at a casino, so we went to the Circus Circus Casino where I worked.  Upon arrival, I saw a sign, which said, LAS VEGAS CHRISTIAN CENTER!  Mark wanted to attend the service, and so on his insistence, I went inside that church with him.  We sat on the back row because I intended to get out early.

The preacher of that day was Pastor Sharp.  After preaching we all stood up and began singing, “He touched me…”  As we continued singing, I felt a hand touching me on my shoulder.  I looked back to see who it was, but to my surprise, there was no one there.  At that moment, the Holy Spirit came upon me so powerfully that I went to my knees and could not get up.  There on my knees, the Lord saved my life and soul.  I said, “Lord” (I knew it was the Lord). Even though I had never been saved before, I knew there was a God and that it was He who spoke to me.  I said, “Lord, I give you my life and all that I have or will ever have.” The voice of the Lord then said to me, “Do you mean that? Even your son?” And I replied, “Yes”. Of course I had only been a Christian for about three minutes.  But like Abraham, He gave His Son and did not require mine, but wanted me to follow Him without any hindrances.

2.    My Life After Getting Saved

Within the next five years, I was called to Australia.   I had intended to visit my eldest son, but found that the Lord had a different and definite plan for me.  He had called me to the mission field for the first time.  I then went into the “Outback” and into the Range country where farming communities lived.  In those places, the people had never heard of the Holy Spirit.  All the communities in the Range country closed their churches and came to the High School Auditorium to receive the Holy Spirit Baptism with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  The people experienced a refreshing time in the Holy Spirit Revival.

Time came to return to the United States of America.  The closer I got to Hawaii, I heard the Lord’s voice explicitly saying, “Get off here” – I replied, “Lord, I don’t know anyone here.”  He said to me, “I will be there.” So I got off the plane.  At one time I had known a man who lived there, but by that time, he had gone back to the mainland.  I spoke to his secretary who told me that they wanted to pray with me about being in Hawaii.  So I went straight to the office of the Waikiki Beach Ministry where we prayed.  After four hours of my presence in Hawaii, God had opened the door to an apartment, a job and a Ministry for me.

Within those next four years, the Lord blessed me with a ministry, a large house, and an MG Convertible. What more could I want? However, God sent a man to tell me: – “We need you in Sri Lanka.  Will you come?”  In prayer I replied, “But Lord what will I do with this wonderful house, ministry and car?”  The Lord’s answer was quick.  He said, “You can keep them, but know that you will miss My Golry.”  So I gave a way my beautiful house and sold the MG Convertible.  I then proceeded to Sri Lanka, South India, the Philippines, China and Bangladesh.

In Sri Lanka, we planted a church in Hindala called Good News Mission, and in the Philippines we still have eleven churches.  In 1986, I was invited to attend the Billy Graham Conference in Amsterdam where I met many pastors from Kenya.  They invited me to come to Kenya.  I arrived in Kenya in 1987.

129269947281016697   When I came to Kenya I lived in a village named Namulungua. There I met a young man who   prayed with me every morning. One day during prayer the Lord told me, “Take him.  He is faithful.”  The young man was a nephew to Pastor Edwin Osera. So I took the young man who is now Pastor Justus Ochuro. One day we drove to Bungoma Town. Again I heard the voice of God saying, “Start a Bible School here, and do it now because it is urgent.”  I told Him, “Lord I don’t know anything about a Bible School.”  He replied “I know about it.” We then opened Bungoma Bible School in 1988.  We have graduated more than 600 Pastors, Teachers, and Evangelists and have established more than 500 new churches.  Many of the Bible School Graduates are pasturing those churches.

Then  the Lord put into our hands over 50 children who were living on the streets of IMG_3802Bungoma; we feed them a meal everyday. Then in the year 2000 the Lord brought us our children.   Most of them have been orphaned by the Aids epidemic and other problems like parental neglect and abuse. We found it imperative to build for them a home to help them have  shelter, education and food.
